Wheekly
WheekWorks’ first app is Wheekly, a private GLP-1 tracker for iPhone. It keeps doses, weigh-ins, meals and progress photos on the phone, with no account and no tracking. I built it in Flutter and Swift for my wife.

I’m a senior mobile engineer and architect with 20+ years of shipping software on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and the web. For the last eight years I’ve led Flutter work on regulated banking and healthcare apps, from secure sign-in and payments to the .NET services, pipelines and tests behind them.
WheekWorks is my independent studio, where I build apps of my own.
What I care about
I care about three things: software that’s a joy to use, code that’s a joy to maintain, and teams that get better every sprint. Lately that includes putting AI coding agents to work in production code without lowering the bar.
Flutter and Dart, Swift and Objective-C, Kotlin and Java. White-label apps, typed navigation, shared packages and per-brand design tokens.
Okta, OAuth and OpenID Connect sign-in, biometrics and MFA, payments and Plaid, and HIPAA-compliant data handling.
C# and .NET 8, ASP.NET Core, REST and GraphQL APIs on Azure, with per-customer ownership checks and real test coverage.
Unit, integration, golden and mutation testing, static analysis, and CI/CD pipelines that build, sign and ship every brand.
Claude Code and Copilot in daily work, team instructions and agent skills, MCP servers, and evals that test skills before they merge.
Hiring and mentoring engineers, building a code review culture, and setting mobile strategy with product and design.
Selected work
Moved Farm Credit Services of America’s native iOS and Android apps to Flutter: one white-label app shipped as FCSAmerica, AgDirect, AgCountry and Frontier Farm Credit, backed by a .NET 8 API.
An AST-based mutation-testing tool for Dart and Flutter that grades every pull request and posts the results as PR comments. It became the team’s standard measure of test quality.
Launched HIPAA-compliant Flutter apps for secure documents, messaging, wound care and physician order signing, including an OpenCV plugin that measures wounds from a photo.
Designed and built in .NET Core to every NCPDP specification, answering in under 100 ms with more than 80% unit-test coverage.
Contributed to Things by Cultured Code (2009 Apple Design Award) and built BrowseBack for Smile Software (2006 Macworld Best of Show).
Led the file-sync client for Linoma Software: native Windows, macOS, iOS and Android apps from one shared C# and Xamarin codebase with an encrypted sync engine.
Games and apps, made with care.

Since 2004 I’ve also run Sick Developments, an independent Mac and iOS studio. I hold a BS in Information Technology, with honors, from the University of Phoenix, and studied computer engineering at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
In their words
“He’s super brilliant… I ran mobile dev shops for years and he’s Nebraska’s top 10 if I had to say…”
“…one of the most intelligent people I’ve worked for. I’m glad we had the chance to work together.”
